THE SERVICE
PRINCIPLE
Our core business is VESSEL STAND-OFF PROTECTION.
We will provide a suitable vessel with appropriate defence systems to meet the threat according to intelligence in-theatre, and a trained crew (including British or other native english-speaking, former Naval or Marine servicemen).
We will provide security training for client vessel crews, as required.- see 'CREW TRAINING' page.
We will provide additional security personnel onboard the client vessel, as required.

FLEXIBLE SOLUTIONS
At MTR we appreciate the importance of maintaining a flexible approach to meet the expectations and requirements of our clients.  Different approaches include:
A. Security Consultants onboard the client vessel to train the crew, monitor the environment and assist in managing the responses to any security threats.
B. Employment of a Security Escort Vessel (SEV) for single or double vessel convoys.
C. A combination of the above 2 options – this enables a convoy of vessels* to be protected thus spreading the cost of the service.  In the event of pirates carrying out decoy attacks with more than 1 pirate 'skiff', the onboard security officers will delay any would-be attackers, until the security escort vessel arrives on scene.

(*the number of vessels in the escorted convoy is negotiable depending on the contractual terms and conditions)

 THE SYSTEMS
MTR's vessels are all equipped with maritime detection systems designed to identify small craft travelling at speed at medium range, enabling interception of pirate skiffs, at range.

LEGAL
MTR's vessels and crew are in full compliance with all relevant IMO regulations. MTR vessels only carry those defence systems permitted in accordance with the regulations of the vessel's flag state. MTR flags it's vessels in order to permit the carrying of suitable defence systems to keep inbound pirates at a safe distance from the client vessel(s).

MTR RATES
MTR prides itself on being able to offer highly competitive rates without compromising on service delivery.  Armed Escort Vessel rates start from $12,000 per day (this example is for a minimum 20 day transit).
